Product Details

Armorpoxy epoxy primers is comes in two versions for all armorpoxy epoxy systems. ArmorClad, ArmorUltra, ArmorPoxy II systems are all compatible with these primers. Each primer contains an A & B that are mixed together to apply. Coverage approx 220 - 320 sq ft / gallon.

Benefits: super durable, mulitple colors, easy to install, roll on application, strong chemical resistance.

  • Low VOC (015X) epoxy primer is a two component water based epoxy coating that exhibits excellent characteristics for abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and substrate penetration. This product is suitable as a primer for high build coatings and urethane or as a stand-alone coating.
  • Standard VOC (144X) epoxy primer is a two component solvent based epoxy coating that exhibits excellent characteristics that rival solvent based products. This primer has superb chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, and substrate penetration.

Recommended for: priming or coating concrete, wood or masonry. This product can be used as a standalone coating, as a primer for additional epoxy layers, and to assist with moisture blocking for epoxy systems. Can withstand exposure to many common solvents and chemicals.

Please note certain less-popular colors may take 5-10 working days plus ship time. Use ArmorUltra Topcoat for UV Protection. Use UltraWear Additive for non skid texture and high wear conditions. Can be used as primer for ArmorUltra epoxies.

Please note that recent changes in VOC laws in certain states require selection of the ‘Low VOC’ option (at an additional cost) due to higher material costs since we have to substitute the standard Armorpoxy II with the Low VOC Armorpoxy II. Note that the Low VOC version is a 4:1 mix ratio). Current states that these laws apply to are CA, CT, DE, IL, IN, MD, NH, NJ, NY, OH,PA,RI,VA and all of Canada. Orders shipping to these states that the Low VOC Option was not selected will be manually adjusted when your order is processed.

FAQ

ArmorPoxy Epoxy Primer is a specialized primer designed for use before applying epoxy coatings on various surfaces. It's formulated to improve the adhesion and durability of epoxy coatings, ensuring a long-lasting, high-quality finish.

Proper surface preparation is key to the successful application of ArmorPoxy Epoxy Primer. The surface must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and any loose or flaking material. Sanding or etching might be necessary for certain surfaces to ensure the primer adheres properly.

Using ArmorPoxy Epoxy Primer offers several benefits, including improved adhesion of the epoxy coating, enhanced durability and lifespan of the coating, and better protection of the underlying surface. It also helps to ensure a smoother, more uniform finish.

The difference between standard VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) coatings and low VOC coatings primarily revolves around the concentration of VOCs they emit into the atmosphere during and after application. Low VOC are lower in smell versus standard VOC which may have a smell for a period of time during and after application
