High moisture levels and coatings can create problems, so it is best to accurately determine if you have a moisture problem before you start and have a potential floor problem. If you do have moisture issues, then Armorpoxy offers a complete line of high-moisture protection products, or other non-epoxy type floor coatings.

Complete moisture test kit for testing moisture levels coming up through your floor. Kit also includes an alkalinity test to determine the PH level of your floor and if there are residual acids or alkalai present.

One test kit is normally used for the 1st 1,000 sq. ft, then additional kits for every 2,000-3,000 sq. ft. are placed on various areas of your floor as a single test on a large area cannot accurately determine moisture levels. To use the kit, you simply weigh the testing crystals on a gram scale (see inexpensive scale below) when you open the bag. This is the ‘before’ reading. Then, place the small dish containing the crystals on the floor and cover with the self adhesive ‘dome’. Wait 60-72 hours. Remove or cut open the dome. Remove the crystal dish. Re-Weigh to determine moisture absorbtion. Included chart and instructions give you complete formula to determine moisture levels. The instructions will give you the answer in lbs of moisture/hr. Readings over 4 lbs/1000 sq ft/24 hr cannot use our standard coatings without prior moisture barrier application. Call our office for advice if you have high moisture levels.
